About Me

Bryanna Campbell, Psy.D

Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist originally from Florida and currently practicing in North Carolina. I have a background working in university counseling centers, but I transitioned to private practice in 2021. I specialize in providing therapy for adults who want to learn to cope, find meaning, and heal themselves. I support adults with concerns related to depression, anxiety, relationships, and other life transitions related to adulthood. While I am honored to work with individuals from varying backgrounds, I have a special interest in working with Black and other People of Color (POC) as well as attending to the unique experiences of adult children of immigrants.

My work is both warm and empathetic, and I work to create safe and inclusive spaces in therapy where individuals can authentically be themselves. In addition to therapeutic services, I have a passion for providing consultation services to schools, local organizations, and corporate organizations.

As a Black psychologist, I understand the importance of representation. My research and clinical work has focused on racial socialization, racial identity development, self-esteem, and the development of impostor feelings in Black adults. I have a desire for curating healing spaces, content, and experiences for Black & POC individuals that help them connect empathically to themselves and others.

My passion is making mental health conversations more authentic and relatable for everyone, especially in Black & POC communities by emphasizing the multifaceted humanity of Black & POC lives. In the future, I aspire to consult for film and television and create accessible literature and content to put healing in the hands of those who desire it.

Some fun facts:

  • I am an introvert! I gain energy and restoration by spending time alone. Some wonder how it is possible to be both introverted and a therapist, but I consider my introversion and sensitivity as strengths that help me feel attuned.

  • I am a child of immigrants! My family comes from the beautiful region of the Caribbean. Through research and personal experience, I have found that there are unique experiences that occur between generations of immigrant families which fostered my passion for working with adult children of immigrants.

  • I love plants and nature! If you can’t tell by my website, I love gardening, plants, and the outdoors. I’ll admit, they don’t always love me back, but being near nature beings me a sense of peace and serenity in a world that can feel overwhelming at times.

When I am not working, you might catch me at a local plant shop, watching TV or movies, playing with my dog, or ordering pho at my local Vietnamese restaurant. If I don’t feel like having pho, you will likely catch me ordering rice and peas, curry, and cabbage from the local Jamaican spot.
